Date set for Laughing Moon Con

Laughing Moon Con is set for October 20th, 2012, and already our lineup is looking fantastic.  In addition to hosting a number of fun tabletop games, we'll also have several comic book artists on hand with original prints.  We have a good list of vendors, and I'm sure that the list of guests will grow as we get closer to the date.

Established three years ago, Laughing Moon Con is held at Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, AZ. This is my attempt to introduce a younger generation to the wonderful world of adventure found in fiction, RPGs, and art.

For the younger generation, this is a rare chance to meet and speak with authors, artists and special guests. 

Most of our attendees have never been to a Comic Con of any type, and certainly don't have the chance to meet artists and authors face to face like this.  This is their fist exposure to the convention scene, and I hope to make it a memorable one.

The day will also feature dozens of different gaming opportunities ranging from card games, dice games, and role-playing adventure games.  This is a fun way to socialize and spend a few hours in good company as you strategize, problem solve, and bring fictional characters to life.

Desert Edge High School extracurricular clubs will be fundraising at the event, and every dollar spent at their tables will help their club grow.

I am personally invested in this endeavor.  I've seen kids find a lifelong hobby at these events, and every year the first question I get asked when its over is "when's the next one happening?"  I'm glad to see the local AZ artistic community recognize the opportunity this provides to the younger generation and I certainly hope to see our reach grow.
